Meet Daniel Betts
Husband. Father. Defense Attorney. Conservative Texan.
Why I Am Running
I love the Hill Country and chose Texas as my home nearly two decades ago. My wife and I homeschool our three boys, and I was homeschooled growing up, so I care deeply about parents having the freedom to guide their children’s education. I want my boys to grow up in a community that is safe, free, and full of opportunity. Before becoming an attorney, I worked as a chemist; that training keeps me focused on facts and practical solutions, especially when it comes to fighting synthetic drugs like fentanyl and meth and expanding evidence-based mental health treatment that helps families heal.
I stepped into public life because our rights come from God, not from government. I will protect free speech and religious liberty, defend the Second Amendment, and keep Washington in its proper lane. I will fight for a secure border and for policies that keep families strong and communities safe.
I previously ran in deep blue Travis County and earned support that surprised the pundits. I built a grassroots team, raised six figures from small donors, and learned how to outwork the opposition. I am bringing that grit and that team to this race so TX-21 has a representative who shows up and serves.

Focused on facts. Focused on Texas.

Family first. Everything else follows.
Family and Community
My wife, Piper, and I are raising three boys. We want them to inherit a Texas that is strong and stable. That starts with safe streets, a secure border, and schools that teach kids to read, write, and think. Families deserve a government that respects parents and honors local control.
We are active in our church and our neighborhood. We show up for school events, youth sports, and service projects. Across the district people tell me they want less drama and more delivery. They want a representative who returns calls, helps with federal agencies, and stays rooted in the community.
- Support for veterans and first responders and their families
- Partnerships that grow jobs without growing red tape
- Local infrastructure that keeps up with growth
Defending Your Rights
Our rights are not bargaining chips. I am a lifelong hunter and responsible gun owner who takes firearm safety seriously. In Congress I will defend free speech and religious liberty, protect law-abiding gun owners, and stand up to federal overreach so Washington serves your family, not the other way around.
I am a defense attorney by trade. I build the case, ask hard questions, and hold government accountable to the Constitution. In committee hearings and on the House floor, I will use those skills to protect your freedoms and to keep our communities safe.
You deserve a representative who shows up, listens carefully, and fights for due process, public safety, and limited, effective government. That is how we keep Texas strong and free.

Protecting your rights and backing the rule of law.
Recovery and Preparation for TX-21
The July 4 flooding reminded us that preparation saves lives. We need better forecasting, reliable alerts, and the resources to rebuild stronger.
- Modernize flood modeling and early warning systems that reach people on time
- Cut the red tape that delays infrastructure upgrades and cleanups
- Target federal dollars to vulnerable low water crossings and neighborhoods
I will work with local leaders and first responders to secure the support our communities need. My promise is simple. Show up. Listen. Deliver.
